Session of trial on Veremiy case was conducted in closed mode. The accused in beating journalist released
On October 15, in Shevchenkivskyi District court in Kyiv, the first consideration on merits of trial concerning murder of the “Vesti” newspaper journalist Vyacheslav Veremiy by thugs at night following February 18 was held. It was a closed session, in satisfaction of solicitation of the prosecutor’s office. Yet, at the previous session, the court released Yuriy Krysin, who is accused of beating Veremiy. The prosecutors did not object then, so at this session the court released him (changing the level of restriction). First, it was changed to home arrest (on the grounds that in prison he received threats), now to release. The victim’s mother, Kateryna, was crying at the court. “How could you release the person who tortured my son? He is now walking free in Kyiv!”
