Serhiy Shapoval’s captors tortured him with electric shocker and cut his palms

During the time the captors held the VolynPost correspondent Serhiy Shapoval as a hostage, they tortured him with an electric shocker, cut his palms, and forced him to recite in front of the camera the texts written for him, in which it was claimed that separatists are just regular civilians with no weapons.  These videos were broadcast on the TV Channel of Donbas People’s Militia and on Anna News.

On April 26, the gunmen of the ‘People’s Militia’ detained Shapoval, kept him in the building of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration separately from other hostages, and took away his belongings. He managed to contact his family several times by phone.
