SBU: Signal of "Inter" is being jammed

01.10.2014, 23:42

The council to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Markian Lubkivsky made a statement that someone is intentionally jamming the signal of the TV channel "Inter." As LB.ua reports, according to him, the source of the jamming is located on the South-Western border of Ukraine, maybe even on the territory of Prydnistrovia (Prydnistrovska Moldavska Republic).

SBU received a request from the TV channel ‘Inter’ to find out the cause of the interferences that repeatedly appear on the air when ‘Inter’ daily and weekly news programs, as well as the talk show ‘Black Mirror’ are being broadcast.

SBU has gathered information in regard of these interferences since August 28 that were directed at the satellite AMOC, which is retransmitting programs of the TV channel ‘Inter’.

The jamming is achieved by radio transmission in the direction of the village of Kalynivka, Kyivska oblast, where the satellite transmitter of the LLC ‘TV channel ‘Inter’ is located.

Currently, the SBU specialists together with the State Frequencies Center are looking for the source of the transmission.

Inter’s daily news program ‘Podrobytsi’ has been subjected to regular jamming since August 28.
