SBU: Huzhva was storing secret data of the Ministry of Defense

01.08.2017, 20:39
The Security Service of Ukraine found secret information of the Ministry of defense on the memory stick taken from the editor-in-chief of “Strana.ua”. This information was part of the court resolution  as of July 27, Ukrainska pravda reports, referring to "Ukrainian News" as a source. According to this information, the investigations department of the chief branch of SBU in Kyiv and Kyivska oblast is conducting a pre-trial investigation, which was launched on June 27 based on Part 1 of Article 328 (disclosing state secret) of the Criminal Code. The pre-trial investigation established that on June 22 police, during the search in the office of the editorial office of the online media outlet “Strana.ua” took possession of a memory stick Kingston with inscriptions “CN062806 5V 05360-307, А00LF”, which contains electronic documents with information that can constitute state secret. The information in question was stored on the Ministry of Defense computers, and SBU requested the court to grant access to these computers for investigation. The Ministry of Defense representative was against this, but the court supported the motion. Ihor Huzhva, the editor-in chief of Strana.ua, was detained on June 22. He is suspected of blackmailing the member of Parliament  Dmytro Lynko.
