"I warned that such an attack was possible" – SBU head of cybersecurity on the investigation into his relatives' elite real estate

The SBU head of cybersecurity Illya Vitiuk believes that the Slidstvo.Info investigation into the expensive apartments of his wife and mother is an organized attack.

He said this in his comment to "Telegraph".

"I warned that such an attack was possible. In fact, I did submit my declaration. Accordingly, my wife's declaration was submitted to all tax authorities, in compliance with all the laws. Nothing was being hidden," said Vitiuk.

To explain how his wife managed to buy a 195 square meter apartment in an elite residential complex for almost UAH 13 million in December 2023 despite its market value at the time of purchase being UAH 21.5 million at the then exchange rate, the chief cyberintelligence officer said that the value indicated in the declaration "is the market value, there is an according evaluation."

Vitiuk promised to provide all necessary evidence and documents in the near future.

"Slidstvo.Info" released an investigation into the property of Ilya Vitiuk, head of the SBU Cybersecurity Department. The journalists found that his relatives own at least UAH 25.5 million worth of real estate at market value. Namely, his wife Yulia bought an apartment in a prime real estate building in the Pechersk district of the capital after the begining of the full-scale invasion. Yulia Vitiuk bought the 195 square meter apartment in December 2023.
