SBU doesn't see connection between Sheremet murder and assassination on Gerashchenko

Ukraine's Security Service has no information about involvement of the detainees on suspicion of assassination attempt on MP Anton Gerashchenko in the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet, as well as the possible link between these crimes. The head of the SBU, Vasyl Hrycak told this on Jan. 26 in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"We don't have such information" - Hrycak said in response to the question whether there is information that detained for attempted assassination on Gerashchenko may be implicated in the murder of Sheremet.
"I can't say that these crimes are related," - he added.

 

Earlier, journalists of "Ukrainska Pravda" reminded that after six months since Sheremet death, and yet, investigation has not determined the basic version and did not give any results.

On Jan. 23, MP Anton Gerashchenko while telling about prevented assassination attempt on him, stated that investigation belives there is a connection between murder attempt on him and murder of Sheremet.

On January 24, journalists of "Ukrainska Pravda" claimed about concerns about investigation process on their murdered colleague Pavlo Sheremet. They appealed to Interior Minister Arsen Avakov to provide accurate information about the investigation of the case.

Prominent journalists Pavlo Sheremet was killed by an explosion of the bomb planted under the car, on July 20, 2016.
