Online media outlet “Strana.ua” reports about searches by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the editorial office and at homes of the website's journalists. This information was provided by SBU communications office Olena Gitlianska to “Detector media”.
According to her, the searches started today in the morning, on August 9.
“We really, based on resolution of the court, conduct searches in the editorial office (“of Strana.ua” – ed.) and at locations of residence of four journalists as a part of investigation of criminal case initiated based on part1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Divulging state secret”, Gitlianska said.
The editorial office of “Strana.ua” reports that the search warrant was issued by Pecherskyi district court of Kyiv city. “As the court defines it, the search is under the case of “divulging state secrets”. This is a new case that SBU fabricates against us”, the message at the website of “Strana.ua” states.
