S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game devs report a Russian hacker attack

13.03.2023, 13:16

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl game developers reported that Russian hackers had broken into an employee's account for a collective work-with-images application.

The developers reported this on Twitter.

The "Herald of That Same Stalker" community claimed responsibility for the break-in and for stealing some concept art. Their demands to the company GSC Game World are as follows:

  • come to your senses and reassess your attitude towards players from Belarus and Russia;
  • unban NF Star on the official Discord server;
  • bring back the Russian localization.

The game developers said that threats and attempts to hack various accounts have been going on for a year. They also asked the fans of the game not to share the leaked content.

"We are a Ukrainian company and, like most Ukrainians, we have experienced many things that are much more terrifying: destroyed houses, ruined lives, and the deaths of our loved ones. Attempts to blackmail and intimidate us are completely futile," GSC Game World said in their statement.

As IMI reported, in late February 2023, pro-Russian hackers targeted the websites of the Italian government, accusing it of "Russophobia".
