Russians would not let Ukrainian consul to see detained "2+2" journalist
Russia has been detaining Yevhen Aharkov, a journalist of the program "Special Correspondent" of the TV channel ‘2+2’ and of the TSN of the TV channel ‘1+1’, in the migration specialized center already for three days. He was accused of unlawful journalist activities and according to the decision of the administrative court was fined for 2,ooo roubles. According to the ‘1+1’s TSN news report, Aharkov is kept in the village of Yelizavetivka in 160 km away from Voronezh. As the Russian Migration Service informed, they intend to keep him there for up to 10 days, then prepare his documents for deportation, which will take another 2 to 7 days, and only then deport him to Ukraine.
On July 19, the Ukrainian consul in Russia tried to see Aharkov but was not allowed. They keep in contact by phone.
