The russian-language international broadcasting of Ukraine was subject to cyber attacks from russia, aimed at undermining the spread of information about the war in Ukraine to the russian-speaking audience by blocking the operations of the "FreeDOM" marathon.
This is said in the statement of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Multimedia Platform for Foreign Broadcasting," which manages the UATV and "Dom" TV channels, reports Ukrinform.
The cyber attacks continued for several days. The company appealed to the Ukrainian authorities, the investigation is currently underway.
The "FreeDom" marathon is a daily television information project, broadcast in russian and produced both by the State Enterprise "UMPFB" and by partner media groups: Media Group Ukraine, Starlight News, "Inter Media Group," and 1+1 media.
UATV channel is a russian-speaking foreign language channel (coverage of over 60 countries in the world). The russian language broadcasting of the "Dom" channel was launched in 2020 for the audience in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
