Russia's Pervy Kanal propagandist dies in Belgorod region

26.03.2025, 11:24

A filming crew of Russian state propaganda channel Pervy Kanal triggered a landmine in Belgorod region (Russia), which killed propagandist, "war correspondent" Anna Prokofieva and wounded cameraman Dmitry Volkov, Pervy Kanal reported on their website on March 26.

The propagandists claim that the filming crew was hit by an “enemy mine” on Ukraine's border and that Prokofieva died “while performing her professional duties.”

The Telegram channel WarGonzo specifies that Prokofieva died in Belgorod region near Demidovka village, Krasnaya Yaruga district, which is currently a combat zone.

The propagandist had her own Telegram channel. She made her last post there on March 25, sharing a photo of herself with the caption, “Somewhere on the border with Country 404 (referring to Ukraine. – Ed.)”.

Anna Prokofieva was 35. She was reporting from the so-called "SMO zone" (Russia's term for the war on Ukraine. – Ed.). She had been a “war correspondent” for Pervy Kanal since 2023 and had previously worked for the Spanish team of the state propaganda agency Russia Today.

Earlier, two Russian propagandists, Izvestia "war correspondent" Alexander Fedorchak and cameraman with the Russian MoD's Zvezda TV Andrei Panov, were killed in the occupied part of Luhansk oblast. The strike also killed Zvezda TV driver Alexander Serkeli and wounded Zvezda's "war correspondent" Nikita Goldin.
