Rayon council in Volyn does not answer journalist's inquiries

Kamin-Kashyrska rayon council of Volynska oblast does not answer journalists' inquiries concerning the repairs of its gathering hall. This was reported by “Dostup do Pravdy” , with a reference to journalist Bohdan Lipych.

The request was for information about the repairs accomplished – the journalist tried to get the report on how funds were used and who authorized the repairs of the administrative buildings of Kamin-Kashirska rayon council in 2016.

In addition, the journalist tried to request this information in an oral form, which is clearly permitted in part 3 of Article 19 of the Law of Ukraine “On access to public information”. According to the journalist, the chair of the rayon council Viktor Sus refused to answer the inquiry personally and demanded to file it in writing.

The media outlet tried to clarify whether the rayon council received their inquiry and why it does not answer, but letters and calls to the council office were never answered.
