Rabinovich complained to Prosecutor General about seizure of TV JN1
On January 18, 2013, Vadim Rabinovich, the owner of the First Jewish International News TV-Channel Jewish News One (JN1), appealed to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka with a statement that the channel is seized from him, the United Jewish Community of Ukraine reported.
The statement reads that, on the eve of January 17, a high officials of the current Ukrainian government arrived to Rabinovich, threatening him with persecution – up to a physical revenge – and demanded to transfer him the TV JN1 within a week.
In his statement, Rabinovich wrote that he does not believe that the arrival of the official was authorized, and believes it was an individual racket of a single representative of the government.
"About 170 foreign journalists, who work with JN1 in 24 countries, as well as the TV-channel leadership hope for a quick response of the law-enforcement bodies to blatant criminal activities of an official”, reads the statement of Vadim Rabinovich.
