Pukach to be sentenced in a month
On January 29, 2013, Pechersky District Court of Kyiv will announce the sentence for former police general Oleksiy Pukach, who was accused of the murder of journalist Georgiy Gongadze. This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda Internet-edition, referring to the words of Valentyna Telychenko, the lawyer of the journalist’s widow.
As reported earlier, in December of 2010, the Prosecutor’s General Office announced the completion of a criminal investigation on charges of the Gongadze murder. The investigation established that Pukach committed the murder of journalist on instruction of former Interior Minister Kravchenko.
The criminal investigation established that Pukach, pursuant to the orders and directions of former Interior Minister Yuriy Kravchenko and other higher officials, committed ?the murder of journalist Gongadze on September 17, 2000.
According to the testimony of one of previous witnesses, Pukach also ordered to destroy the evidence of surveillance over Gongadze.
