Public broadcaster has its budget cut by 300 mln hryvnias

On November 14, the Verkhovna Rada passed the law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020", which reduced the allocation to the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine by 300 million hryvnias. This is said in the conclusions of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget of November 13, “Public. Detektor Media” reported.

“To reduce at the General Funds expenditures under the budget program“ Financial support of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine ”(code 3802080) by 300,000 thousand / in accordance with paragraph 2.32 of Part 2 of the Budgetary Statements and Proposals No. 693 and 694 in the relevant table of proposals to the Draft Budgetary Proposals / ”, - the committee concluded.

According to the amendments, the Public broadcaster’s budget in 2020 will be 1 billion 711 million 516 thousand hryvnias. 280 MPs voted in favor of the state budget law.

At present, the full text of the adopted law “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020” has not been published.

It should be noted that in the revised draft of the state budget 2020 the financial support of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NPTU) remained 2 011 516, 0 UAH, which was 0.2% of the expenditures of the general funds of the state budget of Ukraine for the previous year, as it is stipulated in the law "On public television and radio of Ukraine ”.
