Prosecutors demanded to extend custody for Vyshinsky

Podilsiky district court started another hearing on case of editor in  chief of "RIA Novosti Ukraine" Kirill Vyshinsky, who is accused of high treason. The prosecutor's office asked the judges to extend his term of detention for 60 days more, as Hromadske reported. On the morning of July 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine was ready to exchange Kirill Vyshinsky for Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, illegally detained in Russia, but this exchange must be done simultaneously. Previously, the Crimean Prosecutor's office stated that Vyshinsky could be released on bail. IMI reported, on July 15, Podilsky district court of Kyiv postponed a hearing within the case of Kirill Vyshynskyi to July 19. IMI informed that on May 15th, 2018, the Security Service of Ukraine reported to reveal activity of some media institutions controlled by Russia used as tool within the hybrid war against Ukraine. The SSU detained Kyrylo Vyshynsky, head of RIA novyny Ukraine. He had been charged with high treason. First hearing within the case of Kyrylo Vyshynsky, head of the news agency RIA-novyny-Ukraine, on the merits started on April 4th. On 15th April 2019, the prosecutor’s office charged Vyshinsky with publication of 72 articles of anti-Ukrainian orientation.
