Press center of ATO headquarters requests that SBU withdraw accreditation of journalists of Hromadske TV and Novaya Gazeta

12.07.2016, 01:49

The Press center of the ATO headquarters requests that the Security Service of Ukraine withdraw accreditations of the Hromadske TV journalists Anastasiya Stanko and Kostiantyn Reutskyi, and the special correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta” Yulia Polukhina due to their gross violation of the rules of conduct of journalists in the ATO zone. This was the statement released by the press center of the ATO headquarters on their official Facebook page.

The reason of this request is, as the press center of the ATO headquarters describes it, the fact that the journalists took footage in the industrial zone of the city of Avdiyivka that "shows the positions of Ukrainian paratroopers, their faces and weapons, as well as objects that can be used by the enemy as reference points”. The footage in question was taken on July 6, 2016, and broadcast by Hromadske on July 8. The press center also claims that the journalists of Hromadske introduced their Russian colleague from the Russian newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" as an employee of Hromadske TV.
