Poroshenko signed law on establishment of Ministry of Defense media outlets for the time of ATO

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Law of Ukraine No.2051-VIII “On Making amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on establishment of printed media outlets of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the time of the anti-terrorist operation”. This was reported on the President’s website.

The Law determines that for the time of the anti-terrorist operation, the Ministry of Defense has a right to establish printed media outlets. These printed media outlets will be funded from the state budget of Ukraine. 

According to the law, in three months after the ATO is over these printed media outlets established by the Ministry of Defense are subjected to reform under the Law of Ukraine “On Reforming of State and Communal Printed Media Outlets”.

The Law becomes effective since the day after the date it is published.

This law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 18, 2017.
