Poroshenko awarded 13 journalists with honorary title "merited"

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko the awarded honorary title “merited journalist of Ukraine” to 13 representatives of mass media on the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Constitution. Decree No.276  was issued to that effect on June 26.

The media workers were awarded “for considerable personal contribution to state development, socioeconomic, scientific and technical, cultural and educational development of Ukraine, considerable achievements at work and high professionalism”.

In particular, the persons awarded with state awards are:


Viktor Oleksiyovych Verbyna – department editor of the website “Volynska pravda”;

Ivan Mykolaiovych Hrydzhuk – editor of Nadvirniansky rayon newspaper “Narodna Volia”, Ivano-Frankivska oblast;

Rostyslava Bohdanivna Dzhumurat – head of the editorial office of Zakarpatska Oblast State TV and Radio Company;

Anatoliy Fedorovych Isak – editor-in-chief of Chernivetska oblast civil and political newspaper “Bukovyna”;

Mykhailo Vasyliovych Lysevych – acting editor of the newspaper of Ternopilska oblast council and Ternopilska oblast State Administration “Svoboda”;

Diliara Lutfiyivna Kudusova – director of communal enterprise “Studia “Melitopolskyi rayon” of Melitopolskyi rayon council, Zaporizka oblast;

Svitlana Mykhailivna Maksymenko – head of fiction programs department of Lvivska Oblast State TV and Radio Company;

Nadiya Mykolaivna Malchenko – editor of the newspaper “Litynskyi visnyk”, Vinnytska oblast;

Petro Petrovych Melnyk – vice head and executive secretary of Kirovohradsky oblast union of journalists;

Viktor Ivanovych Ozhohin – member of Dnipropetrovsk obast organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine;

Ihor Sviatoslavovych Parymskyi – head of the chair of the Institute of Journalism, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University;

Andriy Anataloiyovych Shapovalov – executive director of the branch of the National TV Company of Ukraine “Luhansk Regional Office”;

Stefan Vasyliovych Shkaraban – editor of the newspaper “Vilne Slovo”, Ternopilska oblast.


As IMI reported, on February 17, 2016, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded  the participant of the Revolution of Dignity, photojournalist of the Internet media outlet “Svet i teni” Ihor Demchenko with the order “For courage”, 3rd degree. This journalist was injured in 2014 by a flash-bang grenade thrown at him by “Berkut” officers.
