The police instituted the criminal proceeding due to case of beating of the journalist for “Strana.ua” Vladyslav Bovtruk. On 2nd of July, the journalist was covering the action of protest in the Independece square in Kyiv, when he was assaulted, as to “Detektor Media”. As the editorial board of “Strana.ua” told the proceeding has been instituted for “intentional light and intermediate bodily harm to the journalist during his work). “As to “Strana.ua” the journalist was beaten on 2nd of July in the Independence square in Kyiv, when he came to fulfill editorial task, covering the protest action against registration of candidates for the snap parliamentary election of two odious candidates: Andriy Kluyev, head of the presidential administration at the time of Viktor Yanukovych, and Anatoliy Shariy, video blogger. Bovtruk recognized the assaulter: this would be Oleksiy Tsymbalyuk, known for being witness within the case of fake murder of Arkadiy Babchenko. But the police did not confirm this report. But as to former head of Odessa territorial organization of “Pravyy sector” Serhiy Sternenko, Bovtruk’s behavior was strange, he would provoke himself the assaulter. “The eeye-witnesses told that Bovtruk arrived in advance to the Maydan square and had somehow strange behavior, he was constantly glancing back, spit underfoot, was seeking for someone in the crowd. As he saw Oleksiy Tsymbalyuk, he ran to him from behind and started shouting. Oleksiy turned back and scared because of a sudden shout, he saw Bovtruk crying “That’s for Shariy!” and pushed off Oleksiy”, Strernenko posted in Facebook.
