Police opened case over threats that journalist got last year

In the region of Rivne, the police has instituted criminal proceedings over the threats against the journalist for “Investigation.Info” (Slidstvo.Info) Olena Loginova, as to "Fourth power" with reference to the spokesman of the National police of Rivne region Anton Kruk. The journalist had received threats in 2018, while filming an investigative documentary film about tractor thefts and police corruption "Two tractors outside Rivne, Ukraine". Olena Loginova was threatened by one of the suspected of tractors theft. The film, the journalist was working on for over a year, was presented in early August 2019 in Rivne. According to Anton Kruk, the police opened the criminal proceedings under Article 345-1, part 1 ("Threatening or violence against the journalist"). “Searching his tractor, Yuri has been coming to alleged robbers for several times. While working on the journalistic investigation, the journalists came to see them together with a farmer. <…> They started arguing, yelling at Yuri, and one of them even left a trace of his fist on the TV crew’s car. The journalists and the farmer could barely leave the place unharmed, ”- Olena Loginova wrote on the website“ Svidok.Info ”.
