Police opened case on disappearance of journalist in Donetsk

10.06.2017, 00:51

On June 8, police opened a proceeding based on the fact of disappearance of journalist Stanislav Vasin. This was reported on June 9 by former MP Yehor Firsov at his Facebook page, and he also confirmed this for IMI.

As Firsov mentioned, it was discovered that Vasin is alive. “Now we are doing everything possible to have Stas included into the exchange list as a hostage”, Firsov wrote.

“Stas needs to be rescued. Now we need mass media support and public reaction in foreign mass media - this can facilitate his release. On the occupied territory, Stas’ mother can be a contact for OSCE, UN, and other international organizations”, he also wrote.

He also added that SBU was also informed about the journalist's disappearance.

Radio Liberty lost connection with Vasin on June 2. Stanislav last contacted his mother at lunch time on June 2.
