Police brought back the case regarding beating by Shabunin of MP's assistant

The police brought back the investigation of beating of Vsevolod Filimonenko, MP assistant, by Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Center for Counteraction to Corruption. This was reported at website of the Center for Counteraction to Corruption.
On January 15, in the permises of Dnipro district police department, Shabunin and Filimonenko were interrogated simultaneously. The interrogation was initiated by Filimonenko, the organzation claims.
“The confirmation of journalist activities of Filimonenko is needed for the investigators for incriminating to Shabunin a more serious article of the Criminal Code”, the lawyer of the Center of Counteraction to Corruption, Olena Shcherban, said.
According to her, Vsevolod Filimonenko came for interrogation with his supporters and was giving chocolates to all who were present.
The organization emphasizes that the pre-trial investigation in “Shabunin case” lasts more than half a year already. Due to “especially complicated case”, as many as 9 investigators participate. The case was still not sent to the court though.
In the net, there is a video where Philimonenko asks something, and Shabunin punches him in return. Filimonenko claims he asked Shabunin why he does not fight in ATO. Shabunin claims that he punched the blogger for making cry his colleague, Oleksandra Ustinova. Later on that day, Filimonenko used tear gas against Shabunin end escaped. The staff of the organization claims that Filimonenko was chasing them for several months.
