"I am very pleased that the exhibition featuring the really impressive works by the Chernihiv artists Vladyslav Saveniuk and Valentyn Bobyr is now on display in Schwerin. The exhibition is a valuable impetus for the partnership between Chernihiv oblast and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. I was very pleased to meet Vladyslav Saveniuk in Schwerin," said the exhibition's organizer Gerhard Bley in a comment to the IMI.

The photographs by the Chernihiv journalist and photographer document not just the destruction in the city, but also the courage and dignity of its residents who chose to stay and defend their homeland.

"These images force us not to close our eyes, but to actively work in the name of justice and peace. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the photographers who risked their lives in the most difficult conditions to capture these moments for posterity. Without their courage, these stories could have been lost forever," wrote Oksana Shurli, co-organizer of the exhibition, on Facebook.

The entrance to the exhibition is free.
