"Our Money", Radio Liberty and Mariana Pyetsukh won “Honor of the Profession” awards

On May 23rd, the 10th ceremony of “Honor of the Profession” journalistic awards was held. Among the five winners are three journalistic investigations of the project "Our money with Denys Bihus", a report by the Radio Free Europe/Radio Svoboda and a series of articles by Mariana Pyetsukh in "Ukrayinska Pravda", as "Detector Media" reported. In the nomination "The best presenting of a complex topic" won the television story of Marina Ansiforova for a program "Our money with Denys Bihus" (Bihus.Info) "Judge Arthur's headquarters: guests from the dock ". This is a journalistic investigation on the judge removed from office Arthur Yemelyanov, known for his "activity" in the days of Yanukovych. Not in the courtroom, but in his own office he settled criminal cases. The investigation revealed who was commanded services of the judge. In the nomination "The best report" the material " Mine Valley " by journalist Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Tetyana Yakubovich, and co-authors: Serhiy Korovayny (photo), Vladyslav Zakrevsky (multimedia design) won. This is a report about the work of de-miners: who they are, where they came from. Journalists accompanied them during their work. In the nomination "Best presentation of high-profile material" won the television story of Lesia Ivanova for the program "Our money with Denys Bihus" (Bihus.Info) " With intelligence beatiпg the kidneys area (Special Agent of the SBU: $ 8 million, Russian passports and 200 deaths) ". This is an investigation into the fortunes, the past and the present days of the Deputy Chief of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Semochka). In the nomination "Best civic-minded story" won a series of articles by Mariana Piytsukh in “Ukraiyinska Pravda " Serial inactivity, or specificities of the investigation in the case of Gandzjuk (a series of stories in the framework of the investigation on the case by Kateryna Gandzyuk) ." At the awarding ceremony, Mariana Pyetsukh emphasized: "Applying for such contets is one of the motivations to remain in the profession. Thanks to this material, an innocent person has been released from custody. I believe that one could do much more, and I go on working on this topic." In the nomination "Hope of journalism" another work from the project "Our money with Denys Bihus" (Bihus.Info) won : "The nest from the eagle: as at the dormitory of Poplavsky deputies settled down" of Anton Stolyarov. The story revealed conditions in which students actually live, and what are the apartments where the deputies or their relatives live in. "I did not expect to win. This reward will probably give me more self-confidence. Few people is ready to make an investigation about their proper rector (Mykhaylo Poplavsky, rector of the University of culture and arts - ed.), and study there at the same time, "said Anton Stolyarov. This year, 711 contestants took part in the competition, the jury selected 25 of best works. Anyone who professionally work as journalist in Ukraine can file his application – there is no restriction of the age, the type of mass media (press, television, radio, the Internet), the genre and the sphere of journalism, the region of work and residence. The same journalist, editorial staff or third person can submit one work in each of the nominations. The Honor of the Profession competition is organized by the Independent Association of Broadcasters with the support of the US Agency for International Development, via Internews and the Swedish Embassy. In previous years, the Ukrainian association of media business was co-organizer, but this year they did not take part.
