On March 1, the Parliament will consider cancellation of e-declarations for civil activists - Parubiy

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mr.Parubiy,  stated that drafts for cancellation of e-declarations for civil activists will be considered on March. He said this at the coordination council on February 26, “Ukrainska pravda” reports. “The issue on cancellation of declaring by civil activists –  No.6674 and No.6675 – are scheduled for Thursday in the first half of the day”, Parubiy said. He expressed his assuredness that the MPs will manage to consider and support these drafts. As IMI reported before, on March 30, 2017, Law on Amendment of Article 3 of Law of Ukraine "On prevention of Corruption" came into effect in Ukraine, according to which members of anti-corruption NGOs are obliged to file electronic declarations starting from January 1, 2018. The Law was broadly criticized by a number of countries (in particular, Canada, USA, EU) and NGOs like Freedom House, international “Rennaissance” Foundation, Human Rights Watch, Reanimation package of reforms, Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Association, Institute of mass information, “Transparency International Ukraine”.
