On Crimean entrance checkpoint Russian gunmen kidnapped two more journalists and their driver
On the border between Kherson oblast and Crimea, where the Russian military established their checkpoint, kidnapped the freelance news photographer Oles (surname unknown) and another journalist. The driver of the car Jeep Wrangler with the plate number АЕ 9115 ЄВ, who was taking the journalists to Crimea, also disappeared. His wife – Kateryna Abieva – informed that her husband, Yevhen Rakhno, was detained at the checkpoint in Perekop. He was driving the group of three journalists, two of them from 'Hlavkom' and one of them, another news photographer, a young woman. In Perekop the military stopped them, ransacked the car, found the cameras and threw them out, then took the journalists in an unknown direction. Currently the journalists cannot be contacted. The Hlavkom journalist Oleksiy was allowed to pass through the checkpoint as his brother with local Crimean registration came to pick him up on his own car. There is no information about the current whereabouts or the fate of the kidnapped journalists. The local road police that stands along the Russian military provide no information whatsoever.
