On April 28: online discussion "Press Freedom. Ukrainian context"

On April 28, on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day, at 11:00 a. m. an online discussion of the Institute for Mass Information “Press Freedom. Ukrainian context ”. 

Speakers:

Rémy Duflot, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine;

Inna Kuznetsova, head of the Kyiv bureau of Radio Svoboda;

Oleksiy Malovatsky, acting Chairman of the High Council of Justice;

a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the National Police of Ukraine;

Andriy Kachor, journalist, ex-editor-in-chief of the Vinnytsia online publication “Vezha”;

Olga Khudetska, journalist, “Watchers” media project manager;

Iryna Zemlyana, media expert and IMI security trainer.

The discussion will be moderated by Oksana Romanyuk, Executive Director of IMI, “Reporters without Borders” representative in Ukraine.

The following issues will be discussed during the event:

Freedom of speech condition in Ukraine 

Progress of investigations of violations of journalists' rights

Attacks on journalists in the occupied territories of Ukraine

The main challenges currently facing the Ukrainian media community.

The discussion will be broadcast live on the IMI Facebook page 

The event was organized by the Institute for Mass Information with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation within the project "Mobilization of efforts to address challenges in the media sphere of Ukraine."
