Oksana Romaniuk: in April on the East of Ukraine separatists captured 18 journalists

Executive director of the Institute of Mass Information (IMI), Oksana Romaniuk, reminds the journalists who cover the situation in the East of Ukraine, about the safety rules for hotzone.

According to IMI, since the start of April until April 26, 18 journalists were captured, mainly in Donetsk region. «Now, three correspondents stay hostages in Slovyansk, their status is unknown”, Oksana Romaniuk said. – “Among them, the journalist of the foundation «Open dialogue» Serhiy Lefter, captured on April 16, streamer Artem Deinega captured on April 18, and freelance correspondent of channel ZIK Yuriy Leliavskyi, taken on April 25».

  Oksana remarked that the situation with the kidnappings of journalists is worse compared to the events in Crimea – in Crimea, there were 11 registered kidnappings of journalists, in the East of Ukraine, already 18.
