Odessa city council guards did not allow journalists to public hearing
On April 2, 2013, guards of the Odessa City Council did not allow Leonid Shtekel, chief editor of Odessa Daily Internet-edition, to enter the building of council, which was holding a public hearing on the draft decision the City Council "On the approval of placement of temporary constructions for small businesses in Odessa." This is stated in the open address of Shtekel to Odessa Mayor Oleksiy Kostusev. According to the journalist, he showed his press card to the guards, but in vain.
He noted that such actions of Kostusev’s subordinates are a "flagrant violation of the Law of Ukraine On the Printed Media and the Law of Ukraine On Information."
