Occupants in Crimea want more propaganda. Pro-governmental media outlets say "aye".

26.07.2015, 16:30

The occupational authorities of Crimea consider the work of local mass media in «resistance to anti-Russian propaganda» – that is, to the media outlets from the mainland of Ukraine. This was discussed at a «round table» on the topic «Anti-Russian propaganda in context of informational warfare in Crimea» on July 23,  «Krym.Realii» informs.

At the meeting, there was a presentation of the sociological survey «Anti-Russian propaganda in social networks: influence on Crimea residents», conducted by NGO «Regional institute of political communications.» The survey covered 500 residents of Simferopol (Crimea), asking them how often they encountered in social networks "hostile insinuations" against Russia as a state. Because the reported percentage of those who encountered negative attitudes or information about Russia, and, in particular "reunion with Crimea", is rather high – 89%, the authorities consider the mass media's propaganda efforts insufficient. The head of the NGO Grigoriy Ioffe said that Crimean mass media must use "propaganda methods" in their work. He also recommended specific measures for "improvement" of propaganda in Crimea.
