Newspaper "Vesti" says its office is blocked by tax police
19.06.2015, 01:18
On June 18, in the morning, 12 men broke into the office of the "Vesti" newspaper. These men introduced themselves as tax police officers. The door to the office, according to the newspaper’s editor-in- chief Ihor Huzhva, were broken, and no documents permitting the search were presented.
The Ministry of Incomes commented that the search is related to some suspicions of an illegal currency conversion center functioning in the office, yet chief editor of the newspaper thinks it is an act of intimidation.
The newspaper is often accused in being anti-Ukrainian, but the editorial office denies the accusations.
