Near Presidential Administration, unidentified men in camouflage damaged camera of ICTV operator

13.10.2014, 21:48

On October 10, in Kyiv unidentified men in camouflage damaged the video camera of the filming crew of the ICTV TV channel’s program «Nadzvychaini Novyny» during the picket near the Presidential Administration. This was reported by the TV channel’s press service.

The incident took place around noon. As the program’s correspondent Oleksandra Titorova, the camera got smashed, when the operator was filming the scuffle between representatives of Automaidan and unidentified men in camouflage.

When the filming crew arrived to the Presidential Administration, it was surrounded by the police cordon accompanied by fighters form the battalion «Kyiv 1», among which there were men in camouflage with no military insignia. When Automaidan members set tires on fire these unidentified men tried to stop them and a scuffle started. One of the camouflaged men saw the camera, approached the filming crew, and  knocked it out of the operator’s hands. It fell on the ground and got damaged and now requires repairs.

The police officers on site did not interfere and refused to accept a complaint about an assault. The filming crew had to call police and the summoned police officers did accept the complaint.
