Near Odesa, unidentified people attacked journalist who earlier criticized local authorities

28.06.2015, 18:45

On the eve of June 25, in the village of Kryzhanivka (Odeska oblast) unidentified individuals attacked the editor-in- chief of the newspaper "Visnyk Kominternovo" Serhiy Kolodiazhnyi. Before the incident, the journalist was criticizing local authorities, the newspaper informs.

As "Visnyk Kominternovo" describes it, the journalist was getting back home from an appointment late at night. In the lane near his house, two unknown men met him and asked "Are you Kolodiazhnyi?". After he said "yes", he was thrown to the ground and brutally beaten.

Serhiy filed a complaint to the police on this case, and went to get official medical examination of his injuries. The staff of the newspaper "Visnyk Kominternovo" think that the attack is connected to the recently published materials on corruption in Komintern rayon.
