NATO websites under a cyberattack
On February 12, NATO websites were subjected to cyberattacks, probably by Russian hackers.
"European Pravda" reports this, citing "dpa".
On February 12, rumours about Killnet hacker group, linked to the Russian Federation, allegedly announcing a cyber attack on the Alliance's websites and about the website of the headquarters of the Special Operations Forces (NSHQ) being unavailable started to spread on social media.
In her comment to "dpa", a spokeswoman confirmed that the Alliance's specialists were "dealing with an incident targeting several websites."
Since then, no statements regarding the incident were published by the Alliance's official pages.
The main NATO website is currently functional, as is the website of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, while the NSHQ website appears to be down.
As IMI reported, on February 6, 2023, thousands of computer servers were targeted by a global ransomware hacking attack targeting VMware ESXi servers.
