National council reminded TV and radio organization about remembrance days - June 22 and 23
The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council reminds TV and radio organizations about the necessity of the relevant changes to the schedule of their broadcasts on the remembrance days - June 22 and 23. This information was published on the National Council's website.
On June 22, Ukraine is commemorating those who perished in the years of the Second World War, and June 23 is the Remembrance Day dedicated to 75 years since mass executions of political prisoners in Western Ukraine in June-July of 1941 by the Soviet forces.
The prescribed measure is to follow the Rules of broadcasting on the days of mourning and remembrance days. This includes restriction on the number of entertainment programs and presentation of hourly information about the relevant remembrance day. At noon, the rules demand broadcasting "a minute of silence" – usually an image of burning candle and a rhythmometer sound.
