National council fines «Business radio» for failure to observe quota for Ukrainian songs

Based on the results of the unscheduled inspection of the LLC «TV and Radio company «Business-radio», Kyiv city (broadcasting, callsign: «Business radio»), the National Council imposed a fine on this broadcaster, in amount of, 37 048.00 hryvnias, as the regulator's website shows. Based on the monitoring as of May 7, 2017, the regulatory body conducted an unscheduled inspection of «Business-radio» and identified violation of the requirements of part 2 of the article 9 of the Law of Ukraine «On TV and Radio Broadcasting», namely, the share of songs in the official language aired by the station between 15:00 and 22:00 was only 16.6% instead of 25%, as the law requires. In addition to payment of the fine, the company needs to bring its activities into compliance with the law and to adhere to the order of the state regulator.
