National Council fines 123 licensees for non-disclosure of ownership structure

04.07.2017, 17:50

The National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting fined 123 licensees for failure to file or untimely filing information about their ownership structure to the regulatory body. The total amount of fines is equal to approximately 350 thousand hryvnias. This resolution was approved by the National Council on June 29, Interfax-Ukraina reports, with reference to the regulator's press service.

All fined companies have failed to comply with the requirements of the legislation regarding filing their ownership structure information for two years in a row already. The leading official of the regulatory body, Yuriy Artemenko, said that it can be the basis to discontinue their licenses in the future.

The requirement for the entities that conduct TV and radio broadcasting to file annual reports about their ownership structure to the National Council is set in the Law “On Television and Radio Broadcasting”. The procedure for filing this information was established by the resolution of the regulatory body, according to which such information needs to be filed before March 31.
