National Council fined 43 TV companies for non-providing reports on its ownership

The National television and radio broadcasting council has decided to levy fines on 43 companies for failure to submit or untimely submitting ownership information, as to Ukrinform. The regulator took such decision at Thursday's meeting. “In accordance with part four of Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine“ On television and radio broadcasting ”and the Procedure for submission by broadcasters and program service providers of information on its ownership structure and relevant forms of documents from broadcasting organizations and providers of program services, the entities of information activity in the field of television and radio should submit the reports about their ownership structure for the previous year to the National Council until 31 March, "- the National Council said. They also recall that failure to submit, or untimely submitting such information or submitting untrue information is a reason for the National Council to apply a penalty of 5% of the total license fees for all licenses held by the infringer. “The National Council fined such companies. The smallest amount of the fine was UAH 0.44, the highest - UAH 12,849. The licensees must pay fines to the state budget of Ukraine within 30 days from the day of receiving the decisions of the National Council. In addition, the company is obliged to timely and fully submit to the National Council by March 31, 2020, the report for the previous (2019 reporting) year of activity on its ownership structure, ”reads the announcement.
