A Wikipedia-like website powered by artificial intelligence and based on material by the project Crimea is Ukraine has been launched in Ukraine, the project’s initiator Andriy Bohdanovych told Institute of Mass Information (IMI) journalist Valentyna Troyan.
Bohdanovych said that the resource’s primary goal is to highlight the historical, cultural, and political ties between the Crimean peninsula and mainland Ukraine, as well as to ensure people’s right to know the truth about Russia’s occupation of Crimea.
The website is based on the material by Crimea Is Ukraine, including archival documents from Ukraine’s State Archival Service and the newspaper Krymska Svitlytsia (edited by Andriy Shchekun, concept by Serhiy Mokreniuk).
The data were processed using AI agents and models by Google, Anthropic, and other companies following the LLM Wiki pattern. A two-stage verification system was put in place to minimise errors and “hallucinations”, with one AI agent identifying concepts and writing the entries, and another one checking the completed result in a clean context.
Every entry on the portal features citations, namely links to the corresponding pages on the main website.
“The content is based exclusively on the material from the main site, but people can submit information to us, and if it’s worthy of inclusion, it will be added to both the main portal and the Wiki,” said Andriy Bohdanovych.
