Mykolaiv oblast council invented illegal limitations for journalists
In Mykolaiv, the local oblast council’s press service sent to media outlets the so-called “rules of conduct for journalists during oblast council session” on April 16 that include several limitations for journalists’ work. For example, elections of the chairperson of the council, according to these rules, must be performed without press. In addition, journalists are not allowed to leave their seats and to photograph and video record from the space between the seats and the podium and in the aisle, as they usually do. Instead, the journalists will be seated in the last rows of seats, and make photos only from there. Only two video cameras are allowed, that must be installed beforehand in certain locations, but not in front of the front row of seats.
