Mother of journalist missing in Donetsk is not calling anymore

16.06.2017, 01:41

The mother of blogger Stanislav Vasin (real surname – Aseyev), who went missing in Donetsk, is no longer calling. This is what the former MP Yehor Firsov said during the live broadcast of the program Radio Donbas.Realii, reports Radio Liberty.

“Till a certain point, we were keeping in touch with her but then the connection was terminated and she did not answer the calls. Both journalists and NGOs were calling her to ask what to do but to noa vail. It is hard to assume anthing certain but I bielive she is under some pressure”, pointed out the ex-MP.

“His mother till a certain moment was the only contact on that territory, as it was necessary to go to their so-called “law-enforcement agencies” and report him missing, to address the Red Cross and OSCE. I told her it was an absolute must to go there and tell them that she is his mother, then they would believe her and begin to do something”, said Yehor Firsov.

As IMI has reported earlier, on June 6 the former MP Yehor Firsov on his Facebook page informed that journalist Stanislav Vasin went missing in the occupied Donetsk.

Radio Liberty lost contact with Vasin on June 2. Stanislav last contacted his mother in the lunchtime on June 2.

On June 8, police launched an investigation of the disappearance of journalist Stanislav Vasin.

Stanislav Vasin, who was captured by the “DPR” militants, is in fact journalist, essayist and writer Stas  Aseyev, and Vasin is his pen-name.

Stanislav Vasin contributed to the Radio Liberty project “Donbas. Realii”, “Ukrainskyi Tyzhden”, “Ukrainska Pravda”, “Dzerkalo Tyzhnia”.
