Ministry of Social Policy refused to inform “Ukrainski Novyny” about the Minister's salary without explanation of the goal of the request

Ministry of Social Policy refused to provide information on the salary of the Minister of Social Policy, Andriy Reva, without explanations about why this information was requested. This was the essence of the response of the Ministry of Social Policy to the information request of the agency, Ukrainski Novyny inform. The agency requested from the Ministry public information - data on salaries of the Minister, Vice-Ministers, and of the State Secretary for November. The Ministry did not provide this information within the time limit set out by the law, and responded that they will be able to give this information only after explanation wht it was needed and how it will be used. The media outlet informs that the previous requests about the Minister's salary were actually answered by the Ministry properly. The salary of the minister for the previous months of the year ranged from 39.9 thousand hryvnias in January to 102.8 thousand hryvnias in July, according to this information. The office of Parliamentary Human Rights Commissioner stated before that information about salaries, bonuses and other official payments to a governmental officials from state budget and local budgets cannot be limited in access and must be reported on request.
