Ministry of Culture gives no answer to Telekrytyka’s request about newspaper "Krymska Svitlytsia"

16.06.2015, 00:02

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine gives no answer to the information request from «Telekrytyka» regarding the newspaper «Krymska svitlytsia», because it deems this request to be a public appeal and thus demands that it were submitted not by email but in hard copy by mail. This was relayed to Telerkytyka by the chief specialist of the Ministry’s sector of organization of access to public information Yulia Martynenko.

Telerkytyka sent this request on June 8 after the news was published that “Krymska svitlytsia” staff has not been paid their salaries for four months already and the Ministry of Culture ignores their pleas. The request asked, in particular, whether there are plans to pay the newspaper staff their salaries and whether there is funding allocated for the newspaper for this year.

On June 9, the Ministry’s sector of organization of access to public information returned the request and demanded that it were submitted by regular mail.
