The memory of Ukrainian journalist Heorhiy Gongadze was commemorated in Kyiv today, September 16, with an opening of a temporary exhibition on Kontraktova Square, Suspilne reports.

As the media outlet reports, the opening of the temporary memorial alley gathered the journalist's acquaintances, the lawyer in his case, and caring locals.

The exhibition, which is located in front of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", will be open until September 22.

After the alley opening ceremony, the participants headed to the Mykola Naberezhnyi Church in Podol to lay flowers on Heorhiy Gongadze's grave.

Russia has killed 94 journalists in Ukraine since the start of the Russо–Ukrainian war in 2014, said the Institute of Mass Information director, Oksana Romaniuk, at the Heorhiy Gongadze memorial event.

The Herohiy Gongadze memorial alley is a series of banners with information about the life of the Ukrainian journalist and his contribution to independent journalism and the formation of a self-aware society.
