Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, together with his deputy, visited polling station, using as cover press cards

In Ivano-Frankivsk, the mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv and his first deputy, Mykola Vitenko, came to the on polling station # 260898, justifying its presence with the press cards of local media outlet, as the civil network OPORA reported. The mayor spoke to the district election commission’s members on the polling station. The observers asked Ruslan Martsinkiv why he came at the polling station, as had already casted his vote that moment, as the pictures in social networks showed. "Martsinkiv replied that as a representative of the local self-government body, he concerned himself with the progress of the election. He said he had press card from a local media that he left in the car, since no one did not ask him about the ID yet," the OPORA report reads. After he spoke to an observer, the mayor left the polling station. Mykola Vitenko presented his press card to the observer. "On polling day, at the polling station, there are admitted proxies of candidates, members of higher-level commissions, authorized representatives of parties, observers; the mayor and his deputies are not included in this list," Bogdan Morikit, observing coordinator for OPORA in Ivano- Frankivsk region, said.
