Lutsk media outlet replaced the scandalous images it published before with the results of gender study
The Lutsk media outlet “Pid prytsilom”, which published text illustrated by photoshopped images of well-known local women attached to the nude bodies of “Playboy” magazine models, changed the publication. Now instead the scandalous images they display the results of monitoring of adherence to gender equality standards that were presented in Lutsk, as the publication on the website of the Center of information on human rights reports. As the journalist and activist Arina Krapka reported, the text was changed on October 2 in the morning, which was preceded by the attempts of activists to contact the editorial office and website owners, consultations with the lawyers and spreading information in mass media. According to Arina Krapka, she investigated the site and discovered that the nominal owner of the media outlet is the football player of “Volyn” football club, Oleksandr Stadnitskyi (the club “Volyn” is owned by the head of oblast council Ihor Palytsia). She called Stadnitskyi, but he refused to comment the publication and said to call the website's editor. Krapka considers the change of the publication the result of showing serious intentions of the activists in tackling the situation. The question who ordered the offensive publication is still open, however. Also, the offensive comments under the publication are still there. Arina Krapka intends to continue investigating this case.
