In a comment to Maya Holub, the Institute of Mass Information representative in Volyn oblast, Iryna Dimitrova said that she had been renting an apartment in Lutsk since moving to the city in 2022 because of the war. At the moment when the balcony was damaged, the journalist was in a bomb shelter.

“It happened around 6:30 a.m. I was in a bomb shelter. Our balcony is damaged, the windows on the balcony were blasted out, the wooden cladding was slightly singed, but all the windows need to be replaced, even those that were not blasted out. The windows cracked from the heat of the fire,” she said.

Dimitrova said that the fire started on the outside, approximately on the balcony below, spreading to the one above. Now all the windows need to be dismantled, because they may shatter.

Lutsk City Council Secretary Kateryna Shkloda reported in a Facebook post that debris from a Shahed drone had damaged an apartment building. No one was injured.

As reported by Rayon.Lutsk, drone debris hit balconies on the 8th and 9th floors of an apartment building on Vidrodzhennia Street, resulting in a fire.
