File a complaint

Lutsk-based editor received text messages with threats after refusing to remove materials from his web-site

12.07.2017, 10:22

The editor of the online media outlet “Volyn24” Yuriy Rychuk said that he received text messages with threats from the owner of the company “Lutskkondyter” Tetiana Polska after he refused her request to remove materials from the website. Due to this, the editor filed an official complaint about the crime to police on July 5, “Volyn24” reports.

In his complaint to the police, the editor indicated which materials he thinks caused the threats. The two materials were published in June 2 on the websited “Volyn24”– “Bitter aftertaste of a sweet story”, and on June 14 – “Careful: scammers at “Lutskkondyter””.

These publications were about the history of the enterprise “Lutskkondyter”, starting with 2006, when OJSC “VKF “Lutskkondyter” was purchased by investment company “PolArt-Capital”, the only founder of which is entrepreneur Tetiana Polska.

As the media outlet claims, on June 23 Yuriy Rychuk received a call from the person who introduced herself as Tetiana Polska. She demanded to “remove the materials from the site”.

The editor explained that the media outlet does not work this way. He offered to publish her point of view which he promised to publish "as is", yet the woman refused. After the conversation, Rychuk received some text messages from the same phone number, which ended up in threats. Rychuk filed an official complaint to the police, as he says, "just to show that I will not be silent about this".
