Lithuania banned entry to news editor of Russian news agency Sputnik

At the airport of Vilnius (Lithuania) the border guards detained the news editor of the news agency "Sputnik Lithuania" Marat Kasem. The authorities have forbidden him to enter the country, as Delfi edition reported citing an official of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, Giedrus Mishutis. According to Mishutis, on May 28th, a citizen of Latvia, Kasem arrived to Vilnius from Moscow. At the passport control, it was found out that he had been put in the list of persons who were not allowed to enter Lithuania. Marat Kasem lives in Latvia. In 2013, he was a candidate for the Salaspils district council from the "Center of Consent". In the comments of RIA Novosti Marat Kasem told he had arrived on a mission. "I was detained with the wording " threat to national security ", they banned entry to the country for five years," said Kasem to the Russian agency.
